Products and Services

As world-leading designers and manufacturers of subsurface drainage solutions, we understand the environmental importance of water and soil management to deal with environmental issues, particularly the increase we are seeing in flooding due to climate change.

We are pleased to partner with Dutch manufacturers Herder and Conver to offer environmentally and ecologically sound solutions to keeping watercourses clear and ensuring continuous flow rates of water to pumps. This includes:

  • Herder tractor-mounted long reach arms, designed to maintain vegetation growth in and alongside water courses
  • Conver boats and amphibians, which again help maintain vegetation growth in and alongside watercourses and also provide ecologically sensitive dredging

Conver C485c

The popular C485 has been radically re-engineered to provide new standards of performance, stability and operator comfort. Now in production and operating in UK.

Buoyancy and sound proofing are enhanced with integral bulkheads separating the sealed front section, operator position, and engine compartment.
For extra stability during embankment work the operator can shift the engine laterally to counter balance the side arm.

An all new front mounted jib arm provides a universal quick hitch tool carrier for the extensive range of Conver tools. Combined with the new over central push rake, it enables faster and higher embankment discharge of weeds and debris.

Conver C580cc

The River Test, Hampshire, one of the country’s finest fresh water trout rivers, also boasts extensive water cress beds. Leckford Estates have purchased an amphibian, multi-purpose Conver C580 to meet the maintenance needs of this sensitive environment. Equipped with T-cutter and embankment cutter for weed control, the amphibian also has a heavy duty excavator arm for their dredging bucket and various optional tools such as silt pumps. Twin augers and track drive propulsion with auxiliary winch ensures access on both water and land.

Silt Pushersp

Silt pushing is extensively used in Holland with over a million cubic meters handled in 2007.  The perforated dozer blade is mounted to the Conver  silt pusher boat with hydraulic height and angle control.  The blade is pulled through water, or on top of silt, by a powerful winch within the boat and 300m of cable tethered to the embankment beside the excavator. The operation is simple, fast and accurate, resulting in a clean and profiled bottom.

We envisage growing interest in this ‘one pass’ dredging system in the UK, especially at a time when traditional long reach excavation is recognized as ‘hit and miss’ and too reliant on the skills of the operator.

Weed Harvesterw

Three of our biggest weed harvesters have been supplied to Waterways Ireland to protect the local leisure industry from a tide of blanket weed which has resulted from alien tiger mussels devastating  the native weeds. The high throughput of these Conver harvesters is necessary to complete the task within the brief season available to keep loughs, rivers and canals navigatable.
Smaller models are available for general weed harvesting and trash collection.
